I am welding on stainless steel with a TIG welder. I am told that this process produces a ';white'; light that causes the helmet to flicker on and off. Can you find an article online to support this? Can you find an article on ';white'; or ';false'; light for TIG welding stainless steel?
This page talks about what some helmets do under extreme conditions in the context of ';ours don't'; http://cgi.ebay.com/HTP-Auto-Darkening-W鈥?/a>
This search page shows several pages where certain lighting conditions affect some helmets. http://www.google.com/search?q=weldiing+鈥?/a>Can you find an article on ';white'; or ';false'; light for TIG welding stainless steel?
er. I have been tig welding for years and never heard another welder ever talk about false light. I have a nice miller series helmet, and have never had a problem with flickering. I suggest if you helmet does flicker
1. check your battery
if that dosent work
2. buy a good quality helmet
it is just not worth the risk
