Science is just the name of a methodological and universal approach to reach the truth that can never be shown untrue.





Religion represents various philosophical and spiritual approaches, speculations based on these philosophical and spiritual approaches and different methodologies for reaching truth.





Neither science nor religion can prove each other to be false as they deal with the subjects which are totally far apart from each other in the first place and secondly religions all do not represent one unified opinion. Science, on the other hand, remains silent on those matters which is impossible to make scientific observations and refrains making any comment regarding those matters. As a matter of fact that's the reason of why among scientists there are many many deeply religious people as well.





True to their nature religions deal with those matters which can not be proven false by science due to the unsurmountable technical difficultues to make scientific observations as well as lacking of sufficient knowledge to make analogies through logic in those matters. Religions all have the claim that they're based on a divine source, and if scientific facts (the facts that can never be shown untrue) begin to verify some of the subjects that are covered in one of the existing religious texts then this makes this particular religious text more credible than the others and evidently this is used as an evidence to the divinity of this religion.





Here it's important to note that religions do not all say same things and they certainly represent totally different ethical, philosophical and spiritual approaches as they don't have a universal methodology like the methodology that's used in science.





Religion of Islam's scripture, Qur'an, for example criticizes all religions and followers of religions, including Muslims with bitter remarks (and sometimes with harsher remarks than the ones we used to hearing from atheists even) despite being a religious text. As a matter of fact some 65 percent of Qur'an is devoted to criticize religions and followers of religions (including Muslims and even sometimes Prophet Muhammad as well). The Qur'an describes itself as the criterion (furkan) that distinguishes right (haq) from wrong and supersititous (baatl), moral from immoral, good from evil as part of its aim is to give guidance to humans to reach true happiness and inner peace in this world sometimes by advicing and sometimes by warning them. This unique trait of Islam makes it a totally different religion than the rest of the religions in the world.
It proves nothing of the sort - it proves that that bloke was an actor - and a bad one at that - acting a little.
