My friend was falsely accused by her husband of abuse of their kids. She lost custody of them and rang up close to $30K in legal fees sorting the mess out. The accusations were completely groundless, but the authorities believed the husband as he came from a prominent political family. How often do these false claims come up? Is it a sure fire way to screw someone's life up???How often do false abuse claims come up in custody battles?
come up all the time
yes, those claims can mess someones life up real fast and niftyHow often do false abuse claims come up in custody battles?
It's really sad....but however, people with money are the ones who always come out on top. It will hurt the kids in the end that daddy did that to them. His time's coming....don't worry.....
When a person's life is their children, then yes, false abuse claims are a surefire way to screw up their life. They do come up alot from what I've heard.....and most of the time, physician reports are required by the courts to prove the abuse claims. Were reports filed?
I will keep your friend and her kids in my prayers...God will take care of things (I know, not what she needs to hear right now....but tell her to just be patient....God will provide).
i feel sorry for your friend. Now a days the rich people pay the authorities big sum of money to win the case. The husband fabricated a story to get the kids and a way out for him to divorce the poor wife.Encourage your friend not to loose hope.Sooner or later justice will prevail.Pray that the husband will eventually enlighten with his false accusation to his wife.He will come to realize he was wrong and regret what he did to his wife.I'm sure the truth will come out.God bless!
It happens a lot. What most judges consider though is a past record of abuse. That's why it's important if there IS abuse really going on to document it through photos and police reports. If there was no past history of abuse found and the judge denied her custody of her kids I would say somebody pulled some political strings to get that deal done. While DFCS is required to investigate all claims of child abuse it doesn't necessarily mean a death sentence for custody. I would say the majority of the time when false claims are involved DFCS is able to determine that and make the appropriate call. The best thing your friend could have done was to call DFCS out to her house herself and willingly offered to be checked out knowing her louse of an ex was planning this.
About as often as a bitchy women with kids gets a divorce.
Im sorry that happend to your friend
lawyers are garbage....its all about their paycheck....justice is a myth...and the states attorneys and judges are to blame...as scary as it seems the executive branch of the government is the most honest
It certainly screws up someone's finances. I see stuff like this going on quite a bit in my community, so first hand, I would say that this happens quite a bit.
yes things like this happen all the time it did to me
This happens all the time and it is devastating. Unfortunately, or fortunately, courts want to be very careful when it comes to abuse issues and protecting the children. When a claim is raised usually numerous professionals will have to get involved, lawyers, therapists, doctors, psychologists, etc. Once allegations are made, they are hard to make disappear.
