the uterus will have a larger blood supply at the moment which will make the surgery more tricky and also her hormone levels will be all over the place so vets prefer to wait until the hormone balance in the dog is normal so their will be no long time effects.Why can't a dog be spayed during a false pregnancy?
Who told you that they can't?
They can be spayed during their heat cycle, and during pregnancy...never heard of that.
It is a bloody surgery...some vets just don't want to do it for that reason.
you can even if she was pregnant we had our staff done when she was caught off her son
and to vet tech i dont know what vets u work at but they need to be shut down if they spay a dog in labour or u are full of s***
I thought it was to do with hormone levels and causing an imbalance. But I'm not an expert!
all to do with blood pressure
They can, but the vets prefer not to, because of the increased blood supply to the uterus. There is a greater risk of haemorrhaging.
Gr8danelady is right, so don't know why she got the thumbs down from someone.
I am not sure about false pregnancy but my clinic does pregnant spays all the time even when they are about to pop. we did a dog who started labor sighns you know teperature dropped she started tearing her kennel apart to nest and we put her on the table and did it right there. even when people bring their dogs in that look like if you pock them they are going to pop but ';didn't know'; their own dog was pregnant. so i don't see why not with false pregnancy%26gt;
