How common are false negatives (pregnancy tests)?

I took one today, although not a blood test, it was taken at a clinic. My sister had 6 false negatives before she found out she was pregnant, and she was slightly showing at the time. Also, it may be too early to determine in my case, but I've been very tired, and nautious for the past 2 1/2 weeks. There is a possibility, but how common is it to get a false negative? How common are false negatives (pregnancy tests)?
Pretty common, especially in you test before your period is actually due. I personally got a positive test 3 days after I had been due.How common are false negatives (pregnancy tests)?
False negatives are more common than false positives. Anything is possible. Just be careful that you are not stressing over it and causing some psychosomatic symptoms of pregnancy.
I don't know the statistics, but I had a false negative! And I would've been about 4 weeks prego at the time. I found out officially from having a blood test at the Dr office. Make an appt!
It's not very common, if the test is taken at the right time (AFTER YOU MISS YOUR PERIOD, NOT BEFORE). There are certain conditions (fibroid/ovarian cysts being one of them) that could cause you to get wrong results by a urine test for many months into a pregnancy.

Some tests are meant to work better than others before you miss your period, I believe EPT is the earliest one with the highest % of accurate results, but really...if you haven't missed your period, just save the money and wait 5 more days. You can spend the cash on condoms %26amp; tampons instead.
they are pretty common especially if you are pregnant and you are testing too early...you could be preggo and not have enough HCG in your urine for the test to pick up..Try again in a few days or a week
