Did you, or any body you know ever have a False Positive Test?

How likelly is that to happen??? What was the reason for it being Positive if it wasn't true???

I did 2 different brand tests. Both Positive. But I don't feel Pregnant at all. ((Period a week late) Any Ideas?

Thanks for now!Did you, or any body you know ever have a False Positive Test?
First of all, each pregnancy is different and each woman is different. W/ my daughter, I had symtoms bizarrely early...but I didn't believe them b/c I was afraid of getting my hopes up. W/ my son, I had really sore, tingly breasts the day my period was due, but nothing else for quite awhile. I couldn't believe I was pregnant despite 25 days of elevated temps after ovulation, 2 pos HPTs, and 1 post blood test.

I've never actually heard anyone I personally know say they had a false positive. I think some ';false positives'; might be early miscarriage. The test was positive, but then they had a period a few day later and assumed the test was wrong. Other than that, there are evaporation lines possible if the test is read hours after the proscribed time frame. Fertility drugs containing HCG and certain rare disease can cause a true false positive.

I'd say congratulations are in order.Did you, or any body you know ever have a False Positive Test?
You generally don't ';feel pregnant'; for about 3-8 weeks. False positives are caused because pregnancy tests measure levels of certain hormones in the sample. Some tests can give incorrect results because the hormone balance is irregular for some other reason or because there is a problem with the testing device itself. In your situation I would see a doctor and get a more accurate test done, because if you are pregnant, there are steps that need to be taken as soon as possible to ensure the health of you and your baby. You can get these tests done at free clinics like Planned Parenthood or, if you are a college student, college health centers often provide the tests at reduced rates.
no usally positive means a baby in 9 months
I've always been told that there is no such thing as a false positive. And some women never feel pregnant until labour.

Get a blood test done for answers
you don't have to feel pregnant, if we all feel then we will need no pregnancy tests, the test detects the hormone HCG in your urine and you can have this hormone only when you are pregnant.

if both are positive then you are pregnant :-) good luck and congratulations.

there is sometimes when the test comes weak positive when you have ectopic pregnancy...but there will be other signs and pain.

hope you all the best.
You might never feel pregnant until your belly starts to swell. It's different for everyone.

I've heard of false negatives before, because sometimes you get a bad test or you just don't take it correctly. But I've never heard of a false positive.
A false positive pregnancy test is when the test says that you are pregnant but actually you are not. This is a one off case and a positive pregnancy test is a pretty good indication that you are pregnant. False positive pregnancy tests are rare - though there are instances and conditions where they can occur.

There could be various reasons for a false positive test.

Chemical Pregnancy

A chemical pregnancy is basically an early miscarriage. Research has shown that half of all first pregnancies end in miscarriage. Due to the high sensitivity of home pregnancy tests, many women catch early pregnancies but end up going on to have their periods due to a chemical pregnancy.

Missed Reaction Time

For accuracy in home pregnancy tests it is essential that you read the test results in the stipulated reaction time. If you let the test sit for too long (after the instructions on the box tell you), the test is invalid. This may cause it to show false positive results.

Chemical Interference

Drugs that have the pregnancy hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in them can cause incorrect results in home pregnancy tests. The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in them may be responsible for the false positive pregnancy test. If you have had an HCG shot due to infertilty treatments, you need to be sure the shot is out of your system before you attempt to use early pregnancy tests.

Evaporation Lines

While technically not a true pregnancy, some pregnancy tests leave a faint evaporation line as the urine crosses the test. This faint very light grey evaporation line in the test area is often interpretted as a positive result.
Who knows maybe you are but to make sure, you should see a doc and/or have a blood test. sometimes even if a test is negative you could still be pregnant with no symptoms and you may not show in your belly. it happens when the fetus grows up and down instead of the right way. do you have back pain? anyway, i am not an expert but i think you should see a doc and be sure. pregnancy tests are only 99 % accurate and 1% wrong so maybe you got the two that were bad tests or maybe they are accurate and you just dont feel symptoms yet. not everyone gets morning sickness either.
yes my former wife had a few false positive test. i would recommend going to get a blood test done at the doctors office. if your only a week late you may not be far enough along to tell that your pregnant yet.
Sometimes you don't really feel like you are Preggo that soon. Go to your doctor or to a Planned Parenthood. They can do more accurate Preggo tests.
You are probably pregnant. I don't really feel pregnant at all and I am five weeks and two days since my LMP. So you would probably be around the same. I did in Oct get five false positive test. But I think I really had a miscarriage or something. I has a very light cycle and took like fourteen test and several were positive and several were neg. The next month I had a two day heavy clotty cycle. If you are in doubt take another brand. And to be extra sure you should buy the digital kind and go get a blood test from your OB's office.
I had a false positive on a HPT. I then went to the doctor and had a blood test that was negative.
its possible. A friend of mine took a prego test, the 1st one she took was positive, and the next day she took another, and it was negative.

Best way is to go to the Doc
