What is the percentage/stats for a false positive pregnancy test? How rare are they?

I don't actually think they happen to be honest - some people say they get them. But here are some reasons for getting a 'false' positive:

Chemical pregnancy - where the egg is fertilised by doesn't attach to the uterus properly. This causes your body to make a same amount of HCG detectable by an early preg test. The woman often goes on to have her period as normal, or has it a couple days late. And then thinks it was a false.

That line on the preggo stick can only appear with the presence of HCG, so falses really shouldn;t happen, and when they do there's a reason for it.

Evaporation line - sometimes a line does appear where the preg line is meant to be, causing someone to believe they are pregnant, this line is very faint and often is not the right colour (ie is usually a grey shadow). It does often occur though after the time set for reading the test. What is the percentage/stats for a false positive pregnancy test? How rare are they?
They are really rare. It'd have to be a faulty test because its not going to show positive if you're not pregnant. You have to produce HCG for a test to show positive which wouldn't happen unless you're pregnant.
