Wow, I am glad I saw this. Really. Thank you. I am trying to get ppl better informed. I know there are many that are sick and do not know what is wrong!!! Yesterday was National Fibromyalgia Day!!!

A lot of ppl with it call it FMS. I do not have false memory sydrome, never heard of that. Sorry I just assume more ppl know about it. That is wrong of me. Their are so many illnesses.

Here is a bit what it is: I have tons of links. Basically I have all kinds of problems. Some are sicker then me and some better. But I have daily pain, fatigue and many problems that never go away. I often feel like I have the flu.

Fibromyalgia

Adapted from these Arthritis Foundation publications: Fibromyalgia brochure, Guide to Good Living with Fibromyalgia and Good Living with Fibromyalgia Workbook.

What Is It?

Fibromyalgia (fye-bro-my-AL-gee-ah) is an arthritis-related condition that is characterized by generalized muscular pain and fatigue. The term ';fibromyalgia'; means pain in the muscles, ligaments and tendons. This condition is referred to as a ';syndrome'; because it's a set of signs and symptoms that occur together.

Fibromyalgia is especially confusing and often misunderstood condition. Because its symptoms are quite common and laboratory tests are generally normal, people with fibromyalgia were once told that their condition was ';all in their head.'; However, medical studies have proven that fibromyalgia does indeed exist, and it is estimated to affect about 2 percent of the U.S. population today.

In 1990, the American College of Rheumatology, the official body of doctors who treat arthritis and related conditions, finally legitimized fibromyalgia in the medical community by presenting its criteria for diagnosing it. It is diagnosed when the you display the following symptoms:

A history of widespread pain (pain on both sides of the body and above and below the waist) that is present for at least three months

Pain in at least 11 of 18 tender-point sites. What is FMS or False Memory Syndrome ?
If anyone tries to diagnose You with Fibromyalgia, and You feel like You do not have it because You do not have the Symptoms above. And it seems as though Your Doctor isn't listening.

Your C-Reactive Protein Level may be high because of an Infection, such as I had a Sinus Infection. I was being treated for a Car Wreck, and this BAD Doctor tried to give me this disease.

So He stopped My Physical Therapy to try and prove that He was right. I was sent to a Specialist in this area, the Head Specialist. He confirmed that I did not have Fibromyalgia.

Physical Therapy resumed, but too much time had passed. The first time my blood was tested, my CRP level was high, so He ASSumed that I had Fibromyalgia. When He had the second sample tested my CRP level was lower, so He told me He thought I had Polymyalgia Rhuematica.

Polymyalgia Rhuematica is a lesser form of the first that will go away in time. So please if You are diagnosed with this disease, it is possible that Your Doctor doesn't know what is wrong, so He lumps You into one of these two categories.

Get a second opinion, or go to see a Specialist.

They had treated Me in His Office for the Sinus Infection, He should have known, so I did not have to go through this. But He wanted to be right. God Bless You, and May You Be Without Pain VERY SOON.

I was diagnosed over 11 years ago by a specialist, a Rheumatologist .Before I went to him another doctor thought I had this for sure, he was an ENT. So he sent me to the specialist.I have been to about every kind of doctor. I have pain every day, sometimes very severe and never ending fatigue.

I have other symptoms too. It has not went away. I have been tried on many many meds.I have had more then a second opinion. Been to tons of doctors!! Also have a lot of other stuff that seems to go with it. I have tried about everything.

The latest thing I am looking into is if I could have Lyme Disease.I had read it can cause FMS or make it look like FMS. But in the later stages it is not easy to treat if I do have it.It is hard to get good care where I live. I have went out of the area and would go more if I could.I am still sick!

Thank you Ann. I am glad you are alright now. I still have a very strong faith in God. I have gotten worse. But I pray and have faith that God will help. I may not be cured and always have some pain(I am used to a certain about of pain)but I think God will help.

A false memory is a memory of an event that did not happen or is a distortion of an event that did occur as determined by externally corroborated facts.

In other words , things dont always happen the way she remembered them as having happened . Sometimes her memory about things is just a little different from what really happened , while other times her memory of actual events, or what ever , is completely off from how things really happened...
