When a company states that they DON'T Test their products on animals is that ture or false?

I am looking into All Natural Cleaning products that are not tested on animals and I have looked into Clorox Natural Cleaning Products and they have stated that their products are not tested on animals.

Is that true or false, and I am aware that some companies state that they don't test on animals but they do?

They also claim that its good for the envoirment also.

Please explain your answer thank you(s).

It depends on the company. Large American corporations like Clorox must adhere to many federal laws, one of which say this if they say they don't do animal testing, then they don't.

There is NO federal law saying that animal testing is illegal. If a United States company does NOT say that it does not use animals, then it might or it might not.

Companies outside of the US do not have to follow US rules, if they do not sell within the United States. So products you might buy over the Internet have no such guarantee as to truthfulness.

Another problem is the term ';all natural:';. there is NO law in the United States to define what a ';natural product'; is. For example, Hydrochloric Acid DOES occur naturally (stomach acid), and so could be contained in an ';all natural'; cleaner. But such a cleaner might be highly poisonous, and damaging to many surfaces. When a company states that they DON'T Test their products on animals is that ture or false?
If it is a USA product the odds are good they are not tested on animals, at least not since the truth in advertising law was passed. Of course there is no good reason to test a product like Clorox on animals, people have supplied endless accidental test cases and continue to do so. This is true for many products and it is a good thing too, otherwise we wouldn't know just how dangerous a lot of products are. (If you are interested in the surveys of accidental testing of products you can find many in Morbidity and Mortality reports.)

All ';new'; products intended for human consumption or use (foods, medicines, cosmetics and so on) are tested on animals and humans obligatorily unless all of its ingredients in roughly the same proportions have been thoroughly vetted in previous tests. Or historically considered safe, cheese for example. It turns out this is not necessarily a good guide line.

I much prefer to know anything I use or give to my children has been tested on animals or prisoners or paid volunteers before I use them.
If it says they don't test on animals, then that means they don't. But then you the consumer become the guinea pig because they don't know what the side-effects could be since they never tested it on animals.
They always do.If they actually told you,you would be disgusted and you wouldn't buy their products and nor would others.
