im warchin the seahawks game rite now and the announcers said we have the most false starts out of all the stadiums cuz of our loud crowd.





so what exactly is a false start and how does a group of loud people cause one???

im pulling for the seahawks also. A false start is when the offensive lineman (the big guys) move before the ball is snapped (when the quarterback gets it). They arn't allowed to move at all or it is called a false start. The crowd gets very loud and this causes the lineman not to hear the QB and they lose communication on when the ball will be snapped. hope i helpedWhat exactly is a false start??
Its when an offensive player moves off the line before the ball is snapped...

The false start is when someone, usually on the Offensive line, starts moving BEFORE the snap. They basically start playing as if the ball was snapped. The home fans can cause this for the AWAY TEAM(usually they shut up when their team is on the field) by causing the line to not hear the count and start moving. A GOOD team though practices the ';silent'; count when going on the road though and doesn't need to hear that snap count. They count along to themselves whatever the snap count is supposed to be.
a false start is when players move before the ball is snapped. The quarterback is counting to the center, and if he can't hear the count, he can't snap the ball when the quarterback expects him to.
